Boehner in a Nutshell

21 May

Sitting here, drinking coffee while recovering from a long trip, Hubby brought up a very good point concerning our esteemed Speaker of the House, Rep. John Boehner. U.S. Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled the NSA gathering of bulk data was illegal, admonishing a lower court for throwing out the case and stating the practice is legal.

“We hold that the text of § 215 cannot bear the weight the government asks us to assign to it, and that it does not authorize the telephone metadata program.”

Section 215 is crux of the law. Senator Rand Paul is filibustering it as I type. So what does Speaker Boehner do?

He punts to Senate Majority Leader McConnell, not to dismantle the law, not to restructure the law, but to figure out whether the private companies or the government should hold the metadata!!!! Because no private company would ever cave in to a government demand, right?

The most telling part? He would not answer whether he supports an extension. And you know what that means. If he didn’t support it, he would have said so while wrapped in Old Glory. Our liberties are stripped from us like onion skin on a daily basis, and all he cares about is who holds the power.

It’s time to kick this SOB out to the curb.

I’m going to have to register as a Republican just so I can vote for Paul in the primary next year. Dang it. Can science please hurry up and resurrect Thomas Jefferson?

aahh yes, the weepy orange man. It isn’t just his state that is to blame, our republican “friends” in the house voted him in to be speaker. But it is what they do, pretend to be on the side of the angels whilst stabbing us repeatedly in the back. Perhaps it is tar and feathering time. I’ve heard it is painful, mayhap educational!? Just as a reality check, congress doesn’t really matter on this issue. Unless the NSA is disbanded AND their facilities destroyed metadata collection will continue. I’m not in favor but I’m just an American citizen; what the hell do they care what I say? 😦

Even some of the TEA Party congressmen voted to retain Weepy Boner. I was really disappointed in Mia Love for her vote for Boner.
