Girlie Drink of the Week

21 Oct

In the South, we drink sweet tea. It’s not just a preference, it’s a tradition. Woe is the Southerner who doesn’t know how to make sweet tea. You would think it is easy (tea and sugar and stir), but it isn’t. It’s an art.

And the only way to improve on it, is to add bourbon.

bourbon and tea

Bourbon Sweet Tea

  • 16 oz. Gold Peak sweet tea (or make your own)
  • Orange, lemon,Ā  and lime slices
  • 6 oz. Bourbon ( I like Maker’s Mark)
  • Lemon wheel slices for garnish.

In a saucepan, bring to a boil the sweet tea with the citrus slices, then simmer for a few minutes. Add the bourbon, and stir well. Pour into a pitcher and refrigerate until well chilled. Serve over ice with lemon wheel slices for garnish.

Trust me, this is way better than a pumpkin spice latte šŸ˜‰

If you haven’t tried Evan Williams Single Batch Bourbon, you really should.

6 oz? Mmmm, I loves me a double double. šŸ˜‰
