    School is out here, too, which means the boss man will be here on time on Tuesdays and Thursdays, instead of 9 AM. Gotta get to work!

    Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day, Kate, my wife and I went into town and visited a shop.

    When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and I said, ‘Come on, man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?’ He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him an “asshole”. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires.

    So Kate called him a “shit head”. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

    Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home.

    We always look for cars with “OBAMA 2012” stickers.

    We try to have a little fun each day now that we’re retired.

    It’s important at our age.

    I was just talking with DD#2, telling her how much fun it is to be an “old person” – now that the older 3 are grown (and we don’t have to worry about appearances with Rebecca), I’m having more fun “acting up”.

    It’s amazing what you can get away with when your hair starts to go grey…..

    Huh.

    Amazingly enough, government-funded entities tend to massage the data so that they will get more funding – too bad for them that there are watchdogs out there:

    (Be sure and click on the letter that was written to the editor by the watchdogs – it is SCATHING)

    Heh, saw that this morning, TiFW. Funny how that isn’t covered like the conversion of R to D Jeffords, huh?

    Also, did you see the WI Union numbers?

    1) Obama team touts Glorious Leader’s machismo in designing/deploying Stuxnet virus ALL ON HIS OWN;

    b) Reaction on left and right alike is withering condemnation for leaking valuable intel to enemies and causing allies to question our ability to keep secrets;

    III) BUSH’S FAULT!!!!!!!!!!

    Yeah, Ags – all those folks in Ames, Iowa are still licking their wounds; she levelled a mortal blow to those cornfields……

  26. Teresa in Fort Worth, TX June 2, 2012 at 5:13 pm #

    Mr. TiFW didn’t have the first clue what all of those funny drawings were on the grocery sacks when we met at A&M.

    Having grown up on the Gulf Coast, it never occurred to me that other Texans might not know what a Hurricane Tracking Chart looked like (much less how to use one) – we put ’em up on our refrigerator each summer, and in every family, all of the kids fought to be the one who got to plot the co-ordinates.

    Beulah was my first – I was in second grade…..

    • LC Aggie Sith June 2, 2012 at 5:32 pm #

      HA!!! I still have a big chart that I cross-stitched.

      Correction: my MIL has it now….Sigh….
