Review: Evanescence – Evanescence

20 Apr

I bought the extended version the week it came out, and it has everything you have come to expect from Evanescence. Crunching, chunky guitar chords, soaring strings, attitude, and the vocals of Amy Lee.

Several of the songs are sonically perfect, and overall, I have to say this is Evanescence doing what Evanescence does best: EPIC Sound.

So Jay needs to get hisself in gear and get a copy.

I will definitely be acquiring this, too. I have to wait until Hubby is back to this plane of existence, though.

Is this a group or a video game?

    Group, CB.

But they may still get their own videogame.

I listened to a bit of the video – they sound like every other generic “with it” band of this era.

    No, they don’t CB.

There is no one in the biz right now with a voice like hers, and no one mixes styles like they do either. I don’t have to hear her voice to know its them.

Bwahahahahahahahaha! That took longer than I thought it would. TeeHee.

I feel like blasting the house with their first album.

But I think Eldest would be upset if the tracks ended up on her video project…. Sigh…

I want to turn this up every time I hear it:

    Really highlights her voice.

And I’m in love with this one from the new cd:

Sounds better on youtube than off the cd. Gotta do a little work on the car stereo, evidently.

Going Under is a great track.

Made of Stone also kicks some ass.

But “Sweet Sacrifice” and “Cloud Nine” always sound good turned up to 11 too.

    Rebecca “lost” Mr. TiFW’s Kindle.

I say “lost” because it has to be somewhere in the house.
Unfortunately, we don’t know where it is, and Rebecca keeps telling us she doesn’t know where it is either (we suspect it is in a hidey-hole that she has forgotten about).

The Alzheimer’s aspect of DS is a frustrating thing…..

If Obama had a son, he’d look just like Alton L. Hayes III:

Mr. TiFW’s Kindle has been found – it was sitting next to the TV in Rebecca’s playroom…..
