Ya know, the cute lil’ eye doc who worked on my gouged cornea told me the flap that grew back might just come loose on occasion for no particular reason, but she never mentioned I’d go blind in that eye, or it’d hurt like hell in the preocess.

  3. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 8:57 am #

That sounds awful, SD. Will you be able to go in today to have it checked?

  4. clintbird February 13, 2012 at 8:59 am #

A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, ‘Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I’ve seen a man do in my whole life.’

The Harley rider replies, ‘Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.’

The reporter says, ‘Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a journalist, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front page… So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?’

The biker replies, ‘I’m a U.S. Marine and a Republican.’

    The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see news of his actions, and reads on the front page:

I’m glad I left my twitter icon adorned with ATTACKWATCH!

Still one of the best radio ads ever.

  11. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 9:59 am #

Tonight, ISU plays for sole possession of #3 in the Big 12, against the Baylor Bears.

If ISU loses, count gets to pick my Facechimp icon.

  12. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 10:08 am #

    GO ISU!!!!

  13. TerribleTroy February 13, 2012 at 10:43 am #

    Dear Comrades at Attackwatch.

Please feel free to PUCKER UP & place you LIPS against my white ASS while inhaling slightly.

Dear Comrades at Media Matters…please see above

    This shit is beyond surreal.

Anybody catch Walking Dead last night? Shane for President! LOL

PS. If you haven’t already, check out BisW blog. He knocked it out of the park re: the contraception issue.

  14. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 10:52 am #

Yes, BiW wrote a good one, didn’t he?

I was waiting for someone to say “deserves got nothing to do with it” in the climactic scene in Walking Dead. Interesting.

  15. clintbird February 13, 2012 at 11:08 am #

TT, last night’s Walkind Dead was OUTSTANDING!

  16. TerribleTroy February 13, 2012 at 11:32 am #

I enjoy Walking Dead even though they engage in some really really stupid behavior. Whats the deal with the One ancient RV? RV’s are abundant and self contained. I would have secured a much more modern one or two. Also, is it me or do these people need to work a bit on their hygiene and cross contamination issues? Have they NO medical knowledge whatsoever? And if not, why are they not educating themselves quick fast & in a hurry. Finally, I probably would’ve shot Dale by now.

Still was great fun to see Rick get all manly at the end.

  17. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere February 13, 2012 at 11:45 am #

I thought including the quote from Jefferson was a nice touch.

When I found that, I also found a letter he wrote to Benjamin Rush that I’m gonna drop on the next fool who tries to tell me that Jefferson was a deist or an atheist.

  18. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 11:47 am #

I love that argument, BiW. And it ALWAYS comes up!

  19. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 11:52 am #

Indeed. It is so damn TIRING and TRYING every time the Jefferson: DEIST!! shit comes up.

  20. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere February 13, 2012 at 11:56 am #

And when they use “his” “wall of separation”, show them where he was every Sunday monring while he was President.

LOTS of wailing and knashing of teeth over that.

  21. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 12:29 pm #

I’m confused. I just got a Rick Santorum email from National Review. Time is spinning.

  22. TerribleTroy February 13, 2012 at 1:49 pm #

Obama “Truth Teams” seems a wee bit redundant seeing as they already have a entirely complicit MSM on their “team.” (# what the fuckety fuck over?)

These people are going to make me kill them and that pisses me off cause I have better things to do…

  23. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 3:00 pm #

Truth is what I say it is.

So, I’ve been calling the little troll over at Surber’s “Short Eyes.” He’s a union fool who keeps defending unions, and his default anti-Catholic screed (which he’s employed numerous times since the contraception mandate) is “Pedophile priests!!!” Unfortunately, there are more incidents of sexual abuse against students in public schools than in Catholic schools, and public school teachers enjoy union protection. Thus, my moniker for him – “Short Eyes.” He supports and donates money to unions that employ and protect child molesters. And he is NOT taking it well. He’s quit responding to me, so I’m baiting him heavily…

“Short Eyes, Roman Polanski called and wants to know if you’re still on for this weekend.”

“Short Eyes, Caligula called and wants you to pick up your kids.”

“Short Eyes, thanks for taking the time out of your busy kid-touching schedule to leave your opinion. I know it’s a union job, and your still getting paid, but it’s a very generous deed. Scads and scads of thanks!”

One of the more sanctimonious types has tried to scold me into retreat, but I basically told him to buzz off. More of the site denizens are calling the li’l troll “Short Eyes,” too. I might get banned, though – Surber is a nice guy. I feel bad exposing the tenor of filth at Surber’s site, but nothing else seems to faze the turd troll. What I find especially tasty are his whines about how untrue it is, because he lobs the “racism” and “heartless conservatives” memes at us all the time. Turnabout and all, you know? ๐Ÿ˜€

    And HI!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  24. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 3:03 pm #

My god, that was an awful comment. Pretend there are various proper nouns in there to use as referentials for the host of pronouns with unclear antecedents.

  25. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 3:15 pm #

Does this Richard Mack guy have ANY chance of unseating Lamar Smith? Please please please say, “YES!”

  26. Teresa in Fort Worth, TX February 13, 2012 at 3:23 pm #

Completely O/T, but this is funny as hell – the #Occupy geniuses in Rock County, WI, got the tables turned on them the other night, when their “gesture” turned into a boondoggle for the GOP fundraising event that they crashed:

The gold covered toilet was sold in a live auction that evening for $1,000. Mielke commented, โ€œI really wish they could have stuck around to see the good they have done for Republicans in the area. Their actions on Saturday night raised enough money to take out a full page newspaper advertisement in support of Republican candidates, or pay the rent for a victory center for one month, or buy several hundred yards signs. I promise our new found supporters from the left this: every penny of the $1,000 you were responsible for helping us raise will be spent on supporting conservative Republican candidates.โ€

I’m still laughing at the picture in that article……

  27. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 3:48 pm #

    Serves them right. ๐Ÿ˜€

  28. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 3:55 pm #

I’m going to the grocer’s to get stuff for goulash. Not real, Hungarian goulash – tomato-y, ground-beefy, elbow-macaroni goulash. I love it better than the real stuff. ๐Ÿ™‚

  29. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 4:05 pm #

Mmmm, that sounds good, Jazz. I had clean out the fridge Mexican Lasagna yesterday.

  30. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 4:18 pm #

    I’m making Chicken Parikas.

We have Hungary on the brain ๐Ÿ˜€

Jazz, you made me spew on the “Caligula” comment!!!

Also, Richard Mack is worrying Smith, and rightly. Smith’s in danger of redistricting, too.

  31. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 4:22 pm #

    Chicken Parikas?

  32. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 4:26 pm #

It’s spelled “Paprikas”. My bad. That’s the Hungarian term for “paprika”. They live, breathe, eat, sleep that stuff over there.

  33. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 4:32 pm #

That’s what I thought, but wanted to make sure. Looks good, love paprika! I’d have to leave out the sour cream (for the wife), but i’ll have to try it.

  34. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 4:35 pm #

Hmm, it looks even better with noodles, rather than dumplings. Definitely gonna try it!

  35. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 4:46 pm #

It’s criminal to leave out the sour cream….

  36. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 4:59 pm #

This is how I have to live, aggie. *sigh

  37. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 5:07 pm #

The police said on the radio today, “Whitney was unconscious, unresponsive, and under water”, just like Ted Kennedy’s dates.

  38. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 5:09 pm #

Yeah, but Whitney wasn’t clawing at the back window.

  39. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 5:20 pm #

Holy crap, am I laughing, Dick!!!!

  40. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 5:23 pm #

I’mma start a prayer circle for Richard Mack. All I have to figure out is the deity to whom we’ll be praying…..

  41. Jay in Ames February 13, 2012 at 5:24 pm #

Here’s one: Whitney Houston beats Bobby Brown to Death.

    from comments elsewhere…

  42. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 5:33 pm #

I wonder if she gets a special “Death Grille” for her funeral instead of her regular dentures.

  43. TerribleTroy February 13, 2012 at 5:42 pm #

OD’d on drugs and alcohol….. coroner rules that as Natural Consequences….

  44. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 5:45 pm #

Well, death IS a rather natural consequence of an overdose.

  45. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 5:47 pm #

    More like actions have consequences.

  46. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 5:51 pm #

    That grille thing is mesmerizing….

  47. Teresa in Fort Worth, TX February 13, 2012 at 5:54 pm #

Williams-Sonoma knows that geeks spend money:

I might just have to break down and get a couple of those Stormtrooper Spatulas…..

  48. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 6:07 pm #

Kelly’s a total sucker for Williams Sonoma. I can lose some serious cash in those lil’ shops.

  49. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 6:08 pm #

My sister used to work at the Pottery Barn as a second job. She got KILLER discounts at Williams-Sonoma. Until her employ, I had no idea the two had any connection whatsoever.

  50. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 6:11 pm #

Kellyโ€™s a total sucker for Williams Sonoma.

    *looks around kitchen*

Jazz, they also own West Elm.

    *sighs again*

  51. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 6:19 pm #

It’s an evil plot, I tell you!!

  52. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 6:20 pm #

So Stinky called from Crete early Sunday morning and we yakked for about an hour. They broke the boat, again. Prop shaft.

  53. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 6:21 pm #

Oh, he found a great cigar bar in Romania and smoked a couple Havanas. I thought that was cool.

  54. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 6:26 pm #

Nice! I’m glad that he’s enjoying himself, even in this weather and while doing KP (is that right?).

  55. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 6:45 pm #

He scored waiting tables in the Officer’s mess, which is kinda the ultimate shit job, considering his officers are all good people. The gig’s over May 2nd or so, and then he goes to being a full-time sailor.

  56. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 6:52 pm #

May 2nd is a banner day here. Hubby comes home then ๐Ÿ˜€

  57. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 6:54 pm #

I’m ready for him to get into the Warrant Officer program.

  58. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 6:55 pm #

How long before he can, Dick?

  59. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm #

And hope your eye is feeling better.

Time for dinner, so see y’all in a while!

  60. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 7:14 pm #

Aggie’s Sex Clock is set to 11:55 PM. May 2 is five minutes away. ๐Ÿ˜€

  61. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 7:16 pm #

This hook they’re playing for the Act of Valor movie has me looking it up. Is it honestly possible someone is doing a positive movie on our best and bravest?

  62. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 7:19 pm #

An unprecedented blend of real-life heroism and original filmmaking, Act of Valor stars a group of active-duty Navy SEALs in a powerful story of contemporary global anti-terrorism. Inspired by true events, the film combines stunning combat sequences, up-to-the minute battlefield technology and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure. Act of Valor takes audiences deep into the secretive world of the most elite, highly trained group of warriors in the modern world. When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home. Each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the deadly terror plot, which stretches from Chechnya to the Philippines and from Ukraine to Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border, where they engage in an epic firefight with an outcome that has potentially unimaginable consequences for the future of America.

  63. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 7:27 pm #

Very cool about Stinky, too, Dick. Very, very cool.

Who ever thinks they’ll visit Romania (except people with heritage there)? Wish I got to see Romania……

  64. Dick (@DicksTrash) February 13, 2012 at 9:19 pm #

Not gonna bother to watch Act of Valor. Lived it, live.

  65. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 10:10 pm #

Back from dinner a while ago, but had to help myself of the ledge.

Who else is having a tipple??

  66. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 10:32 pm #

    Not me!

If the movie portrays our military positively, I”ll spend money on it. I wanna send a sign that we need more entertainment that reflects conservative values.

  67. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 10:42 pm #

    I’m way behind on movies.

I need to spend a day on IMDb and read up on the shit coming out.

  68. Jazz February 13, 2012 at 10:54 pm #

I don’t ever go to the theater. I hate the idea of my hard-earned ducats going into the pocket of some lefty douchebag like Steven Spielberg or Matt Damon to donate to some lefty douchebag cause.

  69. LC Aggie Sith February 13, 2012 at 10:59 pm #

I don’t go much. I do try to keep up with the movies coming out due to the kids. It’s self defense ๐Ÿ˜‰
