    Great.

Now I want a Molson Ice.

  2. LC Aggie Sith July 1, 2011 at 8:58 pm #

That you live there is one reason I wouldn’t mind moving, BisW ๐Ÿ™‚

Dick, glad you had a lovely time at dinner. And yes, I did say I wanted to see the area before I died, so there is that.

I had hoped it was on vacation, though!

  3. roamingfirehydrant July 1, 2011 at 9:07 pm #

**gives BiW a good squishy hug

  4. roamingfirehydrant July 1, 2011 at 9:08 pm #

    Company’s coming, see y’all later.

  5. LC Aggie Sith July 1, 2011 at 9:08 pm #

Roamy! How was the conference thingy? Your flight? Your luggage??

  6. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 1, 2011 at 9:10 pm #

I thought you’d enjoy the tunage, Romy.

They have uploaded a few more tracks from the performance on that show too.

“Gossip” is one…that’s Greg’s take on the same break up that Jim wrote “One Light Left In Heaven” about, and “Candace”, which is a cool song.

  7. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 1, 2011 at 9:10 pm #

Aggs, depending on where you guys would live, we really wouldn’t be that far.

  8. LC Aggie Sith July 1, 2011 at 9:16 pm #

Waitlists for on-base housing take about 24 months, out of a 36 month duty rotation, so living off-base is out main option.

But I told him we would rent this time, and leave half of our crap in storage here. IF he decides to go there.

  9. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 1, 2011 at 9:20 pm #

Well, that prolly has you looking in the Spanaway area…the eastern border is about a quarter mile from my house…

    Bring your galoshes.

Doctor Aggie thinking about Ft Lewis?

  11. Dick July 1, 2011 at 9:46 pm #

Aggie, you can’t see the area on vacation. It’ll take two years, minimum.

  12. LC Aggie Sith July 1, 2011 at 10:27 pm #

Yes, he is, MCPO. The situation at BAMC has deteriorated, the new chief in the dept being rather inept. Hubby is done trying to make people look good, and wants a change.

BisW, if we do move, we can have a NW Cabal™ ๐Ÿ˜€

  13. Dick July 1, 2011 at 10:59 pm #

    Fuck y’all. I’m dru wrecked. G’night.

  14. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 1, 2011 at 11:45 pm #

    I don’t want a cabal.

I’ll settle for freinds that I don’t have to drive a long time or catch a plane to see.

  15. LC Aggie Sith July 2, 2011 at 9:53 am #

Then I would qualify!! WHOO HOO!!!!

Oh, and what does “dru wrecked” mean??

    And, GOOD MORNING!!!!

I have a prayer request for you good people – these are friends of ours from church. Thanks in advance –

We got a call last night from Stephanie, our daughter-in-law in Idaho, that our oldest son Michael (35), was being rushed to the hospital. Test revealed he has had a stroke and still has three complete blockages in the brain. Until the doctors are able to open these areas and restore the flow of blood, his life will be at risk. At last update he was awake, able to talk, and very scared. Please pray the doctors can reverse the damage and that he can recover completely.

As parents you want to be their bedside, but when you cannot, you pray the that he feels the support of all his family and friends, so we need your prayers! Also, remember the doctors and specialist as they work to restore Michael’s health. We will keep you posted as we know it.

    Whine.

And here you folks are luring Jazz away.

He’s gotta do what’s right for him, though. If leaving michigan is the answer, so be it.

  20. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 12:38 pm #

If leaving michigan is the answer, so be it.

Sadly, that’s been the right answer for a lot of us since…well…most of my life.

  21. Car in July 2, 2011 at 12:52 pm #

I honestly feel, though, that is going to change. Michigan has hit rock bottom. Synder has the libs hopping made with the changes (there’s a recall movement, but it’s failing miserably). People are tired of being out of work and on the decline.

I understand everyone can’t wait out the change.

If we could get some social reforms going, perhaps we could get the do-nothings to either move or change.

The barmaide at Hotspur’s inn was going OFF on people taking aid. Said if she could make it, anyone can. I keep meaning to mention it to him.

  22. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 12:59 pm #

Carin, Michigan will struggle for at least a generation.

Its gonna take that long for the UAW people and their sense of entitlement to die out of the workforce, and leave behind people who’d prefer a job to a handout.

  23. MCPO Airdale July 2, 2011 at 1:03 pm #

The majority of my family still lives in Michigan and it is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places in America. Having said that, I would never live there. The tax and regulatory environment is onerous and too many people who live their think everyone OWES them something.

  24. MCPO Airdale July 2, 2011 at 1:19 pm #

    KILT IT! Yes I did.

  25. Dick July 2, 2011 at 1:58 pm #

I’ve been fucking around looking at jobs all day. Off to look at another one and grab a new bumper for the truck.

  26. LC Aggie Sith July 2, 2011 at 2:12 pm #

The makings of an AWESOME weekend for me!!

    http://aggiesprite.wordpress.com/2011/07/02/samuel-l-jackson-youre-my-only-hope/

    Yeah, that was sarcasm.

  27. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 3:04 pm #

I have to go make the house payment, go to the fireworks stand, go get some groceries, and then go to the fireworks stand again.

  28. Jay in Ames July 2, 2011 at 3:15 pm #

Wife got home from Omaha, so that’s good. They really bent over backwards in her seminar, to make things easier.

Then Mom calls, and a family friend has passed away unexpectedly. But the brother will be coming for a visit for the funeral, so there’s a silver lining.

It just never ends, does it?

  29. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 3:42 pm #

    Nope.

Seems like the circle of life starts carrying more death for us the older we get.

  30. Jay in Ames July 2, 2011 at 3:47 pm #

Aggie strikes me as a Texas gal, doesn’t seem like the WA weather will agree with her. But it’s good she’ll have friends nearby.

I want to see the area, too. Someday, someday.

  31. Dick July 2, 2011 at 3:47 pm #

Picked up a new bumper for the truck at a odd little place. They sold pizza, guns, knives, and off road parts.

  32. Dick July 2, 2011 at 3:50 pm #

Jay, The western side of Washington is gorgeous, and with the exception of a lot of rain (cause it’s a rain forest), it’s really a beautiful place to live for a few years.

  33. Jay in Ames July 2, 2011 at 3:55 pm #

I like that sort of weather. I’m not a hot weather person, so Iowa weather agrees with me most of the time. Even the subzero portion.

I’m sure she’ll love it. How can you not like mountains?

  34. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 4:03 pm #

Jay, it is a SCORTCHING 70 degrees outside, and there isn’t a cloud in the sky.

Mt. Rainier dominates the sky to southeast, with the cascades to the north, east, and south, and if I’m at the right place, I can see the olympics off to the Northwest.

Tomorrow, we are supposed to have rain, and Monday is supposed to be like today.

    I lurve it here.

  35. Dick July 2, 2011 at 4:21 pm #

I lurve it here cause I love liberals.

    FIFY

  36. Dick July 2, 2011 at 4:22 pm #

Watched Secretariat last night. Very good flick.

  37. LC Aggie Sith July 2, 2011 at 4:36 pm #

I lived in Germany for three years, so living in Washington State would be ok. As long as I come back to Texas.

Oh, and I found the snake, BisW. I RULE!!!

  38. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 4:47 pm #

    Aggs,

I’d be more impressed if it was a cobra and not a boa constrictor that you found.

    ๐Ÿ˜‰

Its gonna take that long for the UAW people and their sense of entitlement to die out of the workforce, and leave behind people whoโ€™d prefer a job to a handout.

Nothing kills that sense of entitlement like unemployment, no job opportunities, gone-out-of-business union shops.

It’s a life lesson these folks up here are learning quickly.

  40. Car in July 2, 2011 at 4:49 pm #

Secretariat was very good. We saw it a few months back.

  41. clintbird July 2, 2011 at 4:55 pm #

We watched it several times aleady. Loved it everytime. Plus, I lived it – was there in Kentucky then and in fact used to visit Big Red at his stud/retirement farm.

  42. LC Aggie Sith July 2, 2011 at 4:59 pm #

Iโ€™d be more impressed if it was a cobra and not a boa constrictor that you found.

Cobras are rather scarce around here, but I did catch a rattler, if that raises your estimation of my talents a bit ๐Ÿ˜€

And it’s just a ball python, but a moody one. Which is why I think it’s a female.

Yeah. I seem to remember times being much the same in ’79–83, and people didn’t seem to understand then.

Next time you go west on I-69, you might see a grey cinderblock building next to the highway, before the Miracle Twin, off of Court St.

It used to be Genova. Plastics manufacturing. Tried to provide good jobs for people during that “recession”. Didn’t pay union scale, but it was a job, and it offered much better than average at that time. Until the UAW threw a hissy fit and organized a vote.

Then no one had a job there. One example of many. Its going to take a generation. The devastation will have to come and make its home there for a long period before the economy can bloom again.

When you see the borded up buildings and homes…thank a union member.

  44. Car in July 2, 2011 at 5:06 pm #

Devastation has come. I’m just saying, we’re ground zero. We’re there.

My husband has had folks come his his door with TEARS in their eyes asking for a job.

  45. Dick July 2, 2011 at 5:56 pm #

Not good Carin. You have my thoughts.

  46. Dick July 2, 2011 at 5:58 pm #

How old are hubby’s folks? I kinda figured they’d be senior citizens.

  47. Dick July 2, 2011 at 6:09 pm #

Just installed the new bumper and receiver hitch. It took about thirty minutes.
No alignment necessary on the new trucks, which makes life sooo much easier.

    Looks brand new, Dick ๐Ÿ™‚

  49. Dick July 2, 2011 at 7:19 pm #

Nice and easy, Aggie. Nobody will ever know it’s been hit, right up until they pull a Carfax.

  50. MCPO Airdale July 2, 2011 at 7:20 pm #

What the hell did you back into, Dick?

  51. LC Aggie Sith July 2, 2011 at 7:21 pm #

Even so, an accident like that wouldn’t affect the vehicle’s performance, would it?

  52. Dick July 2, 2011 at 8:03 pm #

Had a nice young man hit me a week or so ago. His insurance paid the next day and I’ve been waiting for somebody to post a new bumper on Craig’s List.
Got it today. Net gain, $1900. Thank you very much!

  53. Dick July 2, 2011 at 8:04 pm #

Aggie, it didn’t hurt my truck at all other than the bumper.

  54. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 10:40 pm #

So I mentioned to the Mrs. that a Peasant could be moving into the area. She was interested, so I filled her in. She seems oddly interested in this development, when she normally rolls her eyes when I talk to her about my fifs.

    Now I’m suspicious.

  55. Teresa in Fort Worth, TX July 2, 2011 at 10:48 pm #

Put the finishing touches on my Fourth of July post to put up at my blog on Monday – anyone wanna proofread/critique it for me?

  57. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 10:58 pm #

    *narrows eyes*
Why would anyone need to proofread it? You been drinking, young lady?

  58. Teresa in Fort Worth, TX July 2, 2011 at 11:08 pm #

    Please….

More for wordflow than anything else – I’m funny like that.

  59. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere July 2, 2011 at 11:10 pm #

You do know that no one actually reads my posts, right?

Ask anyone at the H2…on second thought, maybe that isn’t the best idea…

  60. Dick July 2, 2011 at 11:14 pm #

    Hahahahahahahahaha!

  61. Jay in Ames July 3, 2011 at 1:48 am #

I’m sorry, I’d tell you what BiW just said, but I didn’t read it.
