Who Says Chivalry Is Dead?

7 Apr

Baby, you just don’t know what love is.  Let me explain it to you:

SNOHOMISH — Love may have motivated a mower caper at a Methodist church in March.

Nathan Lee Lafromboise wanted to spring his girl from jail. He needed cash and fast. That’s when Lafromboise, 31, remembered the orange riding lawn mower he spotted by a shed several months earlier, Snohomish police officer Jeff Shelton said.

It had been a chance encounter. Lafromboise had been riding in a car on Highway 9 when he got into an argument with the driver, Shelton said. He ended up bailing out of the car and hoofing it through a field outside Snohomish. That’s when he spotted the mower at the United Methodist Church.

After his girlfriend was arrested and booked into jail on March 13, Lafromboise tried to figure out how to raise her bail, Shelton said.

However, getting her sprung didn’t get him sprung.

Lafromboise did bail his girl out on the Everett warrant.

Turns out his love and an orange lawn mower weren’t enough to set her free.

Snohomish County jail staff promptly stuck her on a shuttle to Skagit County, where she was wanted on other warrants.

She was released up there — three days after Lafromboise was picked up for an unrelated robbery.

Re-watch “The Pacific” tonight and laughing at retarded movie making.
It’s impossible to run for your life full blast with a helmet on and not have the chin strap secured or you lose it in under ten seconds, yet all the movie guys seem to believe this really happens.

    Holy SHEEEEEEE-IT!!!

I remember watching that show dubbed in Spanish back in 74 or so, Dick. Never knew what it was called. Thanks for linking it!!!

One more nutty day at work, then probably shutdown.

  25. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere April 7, 2011 at 9:33 pm #

I hope the dumbfuckers do shut it down.

Really, if the Dhims think that this works for them, they are insane.

  26. LC Aggie Sith April 7, 2011 at 9:35 pm #

I agree, BisW. The shutdown will hurt the democrats far more.

    Fuck ’em.

  27. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere April 7, 2011 at 9:36 pm #

Meanwhile, we’ll save a metric assload of money, and not pay to murder children in the process. I think that’s a win-win!

CB, she totally looks Italian. Be comforted that record peeps took notice, and she’ll have a contract anyway 🙂

My worry is the military pay, BisW.

  30. roamingfirehydrant April 7, 2011 at 9:44 pm #

I want the Republicans to stand firm on cutting the budget, but at the same time, I’m looking at what I’m going to have to do if we’re minus my salary. Mr. RFH works for an Army contractor and has no idea if the shutdown will affect him or not.

    (preemptive SYWM)

Bob Conrad beating the crap out of people is a great thing for a 5 year old to watch.

What the fight over this Continuing Resolution is, and what Obama and Reid are cavilling about (it ain’t much):

There are only two “riders” in this budget stopgap. The first prevents federal funds from being used to build a detention center on U.S. soil for Guantanamo detainees or for bringing those detainees to the United States. But Reid didn’t say anything about that rider in his remarks.

Instead, Reid said that “the two main issues that are holding this matter are up the choice of women, reproductive rights, and clean air. These matters have no place on a budget bill.” By clean air, he means the amendment to keep the EPA from regulating carbon dioxide emissions. That rider is not included in House Republicans’ bill.

The only other rider in the one week C.R./year-long troop funding bill regards taxpayer-funding of abortion in the District of Columbia. So that seems to be the sticking point–the reason Reid won’t vote for this budget or won’t allow a vote.

This policy, known as the Dornan amendment, has previously enjoyed bipartisan support: Indeed, Reid, Biden, Pelosi, and Obama have all voted for appropriations bills that included the Dornan amendment. President Obama signed the Dornan amendment into law in the fiscal year 2009 budget. It was only removed in the summer of 2009 by House Democrats–and even then 39 Democratic members of Congress took the extraordinary step of joining House Republicans to try to take down the rule on an appropriations bill in order to keep the Dornan amendment.

Oh and I just wanted to say that Absinthe is not for pussies. I had not a small amount in Italy and spent an entire evening making love to my dead father. And they say the patch gives you vivid dreams.

Roamy, I can’t see the shutdown -should it happen – lasting very long.

    It’s a symbolic thing, imho.
