Dinner….

And a movie…

Is there anything yummier than Bruce Willis with a gun?

Maybe Helen Mirren with a gun…

BUT I WANT SOME COOKIES!!! A box of chocolate Teddy Grahams and a bag of low salt Lays sit in my pantry. Taunting me.

GAHHHHH…watching some democrat bloviate class warfare on C-Span. The republicans proposed budget is going to terminate medicare as we know it and turn the well being of every senior over to the rapacious profit of the health insurance companies.
The budget is going to give MORE money to the evil rich and take from everyone else.

  12. beasn April 6, 2011 at 8:50 pm #

I do not see a problem with privatizing the extremely broke Medicare. Go on and give each senior an 11K voucher to shop insurance for themselves. They will be better off.

  13. beasn April 6, 2011 at 8:51 pm #

Looks like MJ is on to something, and Milwaukee is talking about it: Human Events, Ann Coulter column: Thanks For Raising My Taxes–What Else Can I Do For You? Reader comment

The whole article is worth reading, but this from the comment above:

Kloppenburg is claiming victory, but it seems as tho there were a number of buses being sent to polling places in Dane Co. which is where the capital is. Those buses had ILLINOIS plates on them, and when someone there to vote legally asked them where they were from, they were told that it is unconstitutional to ask someone where they are from. Also, there were 11,000 ballots in DANE co. that only had one mark on them……..voting for kloppenburg. No other marks, no city worker, no anything, just her. She has supposedly won by about 200 votes. So far this information is only coming out of the Milwaukee area radio stations, so he’s been calling everyone to tell them to call THEIR everyone that they can, etc., to get the word out.

    I hope this gets legs.

  33. LC Aggie Sith April 7, 2011 at 9:25 am #

Wow, can your kids scam you that easily?

No, you fool, which is why I stuck a thermometer in you….mouth 😛

As to the Wisconsin thing, I did say voters would rise, and be bused in. I’m not surprised in the least, especially with the support Walker has for the bill, and knowing Prosser would be beneficial to the bill.

As usual, union thuggery and ACORN practices go hand in hand.

Obama’s making fabulous strides on the international stage!

Reporting from Baghdad, Iraq yesterday, NBC’s Tom Brokaw said the Saudi Arabian monarchy is “so unhappy with the Obama administration for the way it pushed out President Mubarak of Egypt” that it has sent senior officials to the Peoples’ Republic of China and Russia to seek expanded business opportunities with those countries.

    Most transparent movement ever:

So far this tax season, the state Department of Revenue has received 1,971,000 returns.

And of those 1.971 million filers, exactly 862 have checked the box to pay at the old, higher 5.85 percent rate rather than the current 5.3 percent rate. . . .

Of course, this is an old tradition in Massachusetts, liberals running up the tab and then when the check arrives — hey, come back here you ponytailed carpetbagger! They play the political equivalent of the old chew ’n’ screw. And I don’t just mean their heroes, such as Sen. John Kerry, with his $7 million yacht, the SS Deadbeat. Or the assorted state solons loading up on booze and smokes in tax-free New Hampshire.

We already know the most liberal states contribute the least to charity per capita. The louder the liberals talk about the need to pay more, the faster they flee from helping out the most vulnerable members of society who fell through the safety net shredded by George W. Bush, etc. etc.

More good quotes at the brief article.

  57. LC Aggie Sith April 7, 2011 at 10:56 am #

Now we know why John Kerry keeps getting re-elected — he represents his voters perfectly. And now we know why the Globe is going under — its former subscribers are just too damn cheap to buy it.

  64. Jazz April 7, 2011 at 11:08 am #

    Unions posture? Pshaw!

Nationally, unions are trying to portray themselves as more powerful than their numbers suggest—only 11.9 percent of all workers in America. They have been able to do so thanks to their millions of dollars of member dues that they direct toward electoral politics. As Larry Scanlon, political director of the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME), said during the 2010 election, “We’re the big dog.” He wasn’t kidding. AFSCME spent more than any other outside group during that election cycle—over $90 million, nearly all going to Democrats. That failed to prevent Republicans gaining control of Congress. And now in Wisconsin, their bark appears much worse than their bite.

Mickey Kaus, a pragmatic lefty (who also happens to hate unions):

On Last Word, Lawrence O’Donnell said Kloppenburg’s vote “will be the decisive vote on whether Wisconsin’s anti union bill is legal.” Maybe. Maybe not! One of the judges often counted on a post-Kloppenburg 4-3 liberal majority is hardly a sure thing vote for either side. In fact, Justice N. Patrick Crooks sided with the conservatives more often than the liberals, although not necessarily in high-profile 4-3 cases.

Disgraced politician John Edwards is said to be deeply depressed – to the point of being suicidal – over the prospect of a criminal trial that could end with him being jailed if found guilty.

    A teaser:

Because the narrative is shaped by professional smear merchants, Leftists will believe almost anything pushed by the “approved” voices. If you’ve spent any time reading the Lefty blogosphere, you might have noticed their odd characterization of conservatives. When they attempt to “talk like a conservative”, what comes out of their mouths / keyboards is so ridiculous it is hard to imagine how any sane person can think this is how conservatives think / speak. Yet, time and time again Leftists fall for these caricatures. They believe it.

It happened again. A website called RumorMiller.com wrote a satirical post about a supposed interview Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi had with Speaker John Boehner. Here’s a taste of one exchange:

The rest is funny and dead on. See for yourself.

‘The male was released at 11 pm after posting $500 bail. The male was one of four males arrested in a reverse prostitution operation by Honolulu police.’

So was he arrested for BEING the prostitute or for solicitation of prostitution? Words do matter, journalists – and the wording here is confusing….

Fucking Les Stranahan hits it out of the park AGAIN:

The attacks on the Tea Party by the White House, the Democratic Party and a complicit press corps are not just about ideology; they are about attacking idealism. They are attacking the very notion of holding a consistent viewpoint and fighting for it. That’s why there’s a drumbeat against “extremism” without ever defining exactly what that extremism is. Having abandoned ideals, the Democrats need to mock, ridicule and destroy the very concept of idealism itself.
It’s the most nihilistic political move one can imagine.

And as to the Wisconsin election, if ANY University students (or anyone else, for that matter, but the stories are pretty consistent about students this time around) are found to have committed voter fraud – as in voting in multiple locations, as is alleged – then they need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

They think that what Governor Walker and the Wisconsin legislature did was illegal and want it sorted out? Fine and dandy – at the end of the day, it’s gonna come out that they did everything legally.

On the other hand, voting more than once in a government-sanctioned election for a high political office? THAT is a crime last time I checked. Arrest those little shits, charge them with interfering with an election, throw the book at them, and take away their right to vote for invalidating the votes of others who were following the letter of the law. And put it on their PERMANENT record – see what kind of jobs they are able to get….

  105. Teresa in Fort Worth, TX April 7, 2011 at 1:10 pm #

Couldn’t find Wisconsin law on it, but here’s the Connecticut penalties for voter fraud:

    Penalties for Voter Fraud

The criminal penalty for fraudulently voting when not legally qualified or for voting more than once when qualified is a fine of $ 300 to $ 500, one to two years in prison, and disenfranchisement. Anyone who votes or attempts to vote by assuming the name of another is subject to a fine of $ 500, one year in prison, and disenfranchisement (CGS § 9-360).

    http://www.cga.ct.gov/2004/rpt/2004-R-0865.htm

Until we throw the book at ANYONE – Republican or Democrat – who is found guilty of this AND PUBLICLY SHAME THEM, it’s going to continue.

Lather, rinse, repeat until people are too afraid to attempt this.

Having arrived at the Gates of Heaven, Barrack Obama meets a man with a beard. ‘Are you Mohammed?’ he asks. ‘No my son, I am St. Peter; Mohammed is higher up.’ Peter then points to a ladder that rises into the clouds.

Delighted that Mohammed should be higher than St. Peter, Obama climbs the ladder in great strides, climbs up through the clouds and comes into a room where he meets another bearded man. He asks again, ‘Are you Mohammed?’ ‘Why no,’ he answers, ‘I am Moses; Mohammed is higher still.’

Exhausted, but with a heart full of joy he climbs the ladder yet again, he discovers a larger room where he meets an angelic looking man with a beard. Full of hope, he asks again, ‘Are you Mohammed?’ ‘No, I am Jesus, the Christ; you will find Mohammed higher up.’

Mohammed higher than Jesus! Man, oh man! Obama can hardly contain his delight and climbs and climbs ever higher. Once again, he reaches an even larger room where he meets this truly magnificent looking man with a silver white beard and once again repeats his question: ‘Are you Mohammed?’ he gasps as he is by now, totally out of breath from all his climbing. ‘No, my son, I am Almighty God, the Alpha and the Omega, but you look exhausted. Would you like a cup of coffee?’

Obama says, ‘Yes please!’ As God looks behind him, he claps his hands and yells out: ‘Hey, Mohammed, two coffees!’

Keep your trust in God; your president is an idiot.

“From history and ethnology, we know that people from this period took funeral rites very seriously, so it is highly unlikely that this positioning was a mistake,” archaeologist Kamila Remisova Vesinova told reporters Wednesday, according to London’s Telegraph. “Far more likely is that he was a man with a different sexual orientation, homosexual or transsexual.”

I thought those kinds of sciences were careful to not superimpose their own motivations and preconcieved notions upon their discoveries.

As one who studied this shit in school, I can tell you, it is not a science. It is an area of study that has been hijacked by the progressives in order to push the agenda that every single social more we have today is wrong, and that those mores espoused by the left are the norm.

As to the burial of the man….

Siberian shamans, or witch doctors, were also buried in this way but with richer funeral accessories appropriate to their elevated position in society.

Yes, and obviously these so-called archaeologists didn’t stop to think that just maybe this was the richest guy around in the hovel. Or just maybe he was the best brewer they had, or just maybe he was buried with pots holding the ashes of vanquished enemies.

Actually, I’ve always said that the reason that so many engineering types like music so much is because it is SO logical – I LOVED Music Theory; much more so than the actual playing of an instrument (which is probably why I enjoyed singing so much more).

My dear late Aunt Gloria was a math teacher extraordinaire. After she retired, she spent a lot of time at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center, observing the correlation between math and nature. She wrote a book for kids (unpublished, except for the ones she gave her grandkids) which showed all of the mathematics that is present in the botanical world – including the Fibonacci sequence.

I really need to get a copy of that sucker….
