Carin, how’d you get that Youtube video to embedd? I cannot seem to get them to do that now.

  3. PattyAnn March 31, 2011 at 10:24 am #

CB, your music video last night at 12:03 embedded. Can you not see it?

  4. clintbird March 31, 2011 at 10:27 am #

PattyAnn, I see it but it gives me one of those messages that the video is not allowed on certain sites. The link however takes me to YouTube to watch the video there.

  5. PattyAnn March 31, 2011 at 10:28 am #

Well, I don’t see a link; I see the video.

  6. LC Aggie Sith March 31, 2011 at 10:34 am #

Some videos are copyrighted and prevented from playing here, CB. You “see” the video, but when you click on the link, it tells you “embedding disabled”, right? You have to click on the youtube link to watch.

Carin’s video was not protected, is my guess.

I don’t know if Charlie is more sane than Scientology. It’s not so much a continuum. Scientology is over —-> and Charlie Sheen is down and over in a slightly different direction, but still “out there.”

Did I ever mention the time I was thiiiiiissss clooose to going off on a “aren’t Mormons wacky” discussion with a woman I just met in a homeschooling group. I had just finished a book about it —and it was fresh in my mind.

    She was/is Mormon.

It’s just amazing, because I ten to go off on whatevers on my mind. My guardian angle was on my shoulder or something.

The way I see it, Carin, Sheen has the “I do drugs and hookers BECAUSE I LIKE IT, DAMMIT!!!” mantle, whereas Scientology has the “I pay $250K to advance to the next level of consciousness BECAUSE I AM TOO STUPID TO SEE THIS SHIT FOR A SCAM!!” mantle.

    Sheen’s honesty FTW!!

Yea, but he’s in la-la land with his grandiose ideas of his WINNING. He doesn’t see that most of us sane folks just see him as pathetic.

  15. LC Aggie Sith March 31, 2011 at 11:35 am #

True, he is pathetic, and most of us see him as a pathetic excuse for flotsam, but as far as marketing goes, he does have it over the Scientology freaks.

  16. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere March 31, 2011 at 11:38 am #

Yea, but he’s in la-la land with his grandiose ideas of his WINNING. He doesn’t see that most of us sane folks just see him as pathetic.

Or he’s looked around and noted that a tax cheat is the Secretary of the Treasury, “Sheriff Slo” Joe Biden is the Veep, Hillary “My Balls Are Bigger Than Your Balls” Clinton is the Secretary of State, and Community Organizer with a razor-thin resume who has proved himself to be an inveterate liar is sitting in the Oval Office, deftly steering the aircraft of state directly at the ground while throttling up.

If I had no soul, piles of cash to burn, and a death wish, the “Hookers and Coke” plan would look mighty appealing to me, too.

  18. Car in March 31, 2011 at 11:59 am #

I just don’t see why one is more wacked-out than the other, or why it’s important to view is worse than another.

Scientologists – many of them – are dupes caught in the grips of a cult. They are brainwashed. Mentally weak.

Charlie is morally bankrupt, addicted to various things, spending his money in an entirely self-abusive manner that enriches neither his family nor society in any way.

Both can get bent. Charlie prolly needs mental health care. Scientologists need to be rescued by one of those cult folks.

They’re both prolly trying to fill voids with something other than truth. Drugs and sex for Charlie. Made-up religion for Tom Cruise.

  19. Car in March 31, 2011 at 12:00 pm #

as for Charlie’s marketing – he’s not gotten one red cent from me ever.

Many Scientologists are at least able to carry on a career. Have some sort of talent.

A DEA officer stopped at a ranch in Texas , and talked with an old rancher.

He told the rancher, “I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs.”

The rancher said, “Okay , but don’t go in that field over there…..”, as he pointed out the location.

The DEA officer verbally exploded saying, ” Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me !”

Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher.

“See this badge?! This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish…. On any land !!

No questions asked or answers given!! Have I made myself clear……do you understand ?!!”

The rancher nodded politely, apologized, and went about his chores.

A short time later, the old rancher heard loud screams, looked up, and saw the DEA officer running for his life, being chased by the rancher’s big Santa Gertrudis bull……

With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it seemed likely that he’d sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified.

The rancher threw down his tools, ran to the fence and yelled at the top of his lungs…..

“Your badge, show him your BADGE…….. ! !”

  30. Blackiswhite, Imperial Consigliere March 31, 2011 at 12:58 pm #

Yeah, I really dislike that judge, jazz.

And I was listening to the news this morning, and the announcer was talking about it, and the last line was “And there is even some question of the Judge’s authority in this matter.”

I was screaming at the radio “NO! THERE IS NO FUCKING “QUESTION OF THE JUDGE’S AUTHORITY” IN THIS MATTER!!! SHE DOESN’T HAVE JURISDICTION, YOU “FAIR AND BALANCED” ASSWIPE!!!!”

  33. Jazz March 31, 2011 at 1:04 pm #

I would have laughed at the joke, J’Ames – it’s very funny! – but I’m having a moment of deja vu, like I just saw it yesterday or so. Did you publish that here yesterday? I think you did!

I wish I had the space to do justice to my father’s story of a set of elderly twin Norwegian immigrant farmers and their attempt to castrate their fully grown, cantankerous bull. It involved a fencepost and a twin at each end of the bull (one at the front to keep him “distracted” and one at the back to do the dirty work). The episode did not end well – the bull kicked the castrating twin in the chest, yanked the fencepost out of the ground, and ran over and gored the other twin before escaping and wreaking havoc on half a dozen other farms – all while bleeding profusely from his sac. The sheriff shot the bull dead when it brought its rampage of destruction to the town proper.

Fuck it. I’m tired of all the bad news. Let’s have a war and see who’s left standing.

Man, I go Skype with hubby, and all this stuff happens….

  100. Jazz March 31, 2011 at 5:25 pm #

Well, it didn’t happen so much as it was brought for discussion, Ags. I think most of this news is hours old, at least!

    Just watched the movie, Platoon.
Silly wabbits. After a firefight like the one at the end of the movie, there isn’t any vegetation left, anywhere.

CB, last night’s episode was damn fun. I love how he and Boyd keep ending up having to work on the same things.

I was surprised when he didn’t retaliate with Bennett, but I figured he was filing it in the “This isn’t over yet” file.

I’ve never been able to watch that movie, Dick.

    Thank goodness.

Watch Saving Private Ryan, Blackhawk Down, or Band of Brothers. Those’ll give ya a better idea of how it really works.

    I have, and they do.

    Thank goodness 😉

Agreed, Biw … I was surprised he so willingly seemed to take the beatdown. Must be more to that issue than was revealed last night.

    I do wonder, AD….

Hi, Aggie. How’s the great State of Texas today? And is that really you with the big Censored across the eyes over on H&B?

  117. LC Aggie Sith March 31, 2011 at 8:47 pm #

Howdy, AD!! Things here are very nice. Had a high of about 79* and clear skies.

And yes, that’s really me at H&B 😀
